Attention: This page is pretty outdated. To find my new page you have to go to http://www.der-frank.org/. The important part is the blue frank in this URL: you literally have to enter it in blue. Of course current domain name system doesn't support colored domain names. But one day it does I'll be prepared. You really should bookmark it now (at least if your browser can save colored URLs).
Until then feel free to surf at my old home page.
Welcome friends.
You found my home page. Maybe you will ask yourself, what you will find here. Read on and find out.

Current projects
Chemnitzer Linux-Tage 2005
I am going to build up the network for the CLT, again. The CLT happen at March, 5th and 6th, 2005 in Chemnitz. Additionally I will organize a new event between the CLT, the Linux-Nacht. It is intended to give people a place to meet others without the pressure of an organized lectures schedule, maybe introduce their own projects to an audience.
Fewer than a month: the lectures program is online. There are some very interesting lectures:
- Google: A Computer Scientist's Playground (M. Ibel, Google Switzerland GmbH)
- Debian GNU/Linux im Auswärtigen Amt (T. Werner, Auswärtiges Amt)
- Das Projekt LiMux stellt sich vor (F. Schießel, Stadt München)
- Enforcing the GNU GPL (H. Welte, Netfilter)
As mentioned before the Chemnitzer Linux-Nacht happens this year for the first time. You can find some information at the Linux-Nacht info page. You are very invited to meet me and some other interesting people. We will meet at the Treff am Campus, a relaxed bar next to the congress building.
Production Linux
For MEGWARE I assemble a special Linuxdistribution to test new cluster nodes.
Fight against spam
While most inboxes are collapsing under the load of daily spam and viruses I am very glad to have a mailbox nearly 100% free of crap. This is mainly due to the work of Manuel Möller, who tuned a SpamAssassin (a very complex filter software) and postfix (MTA) to their limits. We are going to make this available to external users in our project Spammuter. Manuel has some very interesting ideas about Support Vector Machines while I contributed some management scripts and a big clump I usually call database layout.
Server hosting
A couple of friends administrate a server. This is The heart of our mail system. Additionally we do hosting, too. If you are interested you should drop a note. Finally this server will be essential for the hot-spot authorization system I am currently working on (and which isn't documented now).
WLAN In-Chemnitz
I am co-initiator of the project WLAN In-Chemnitz. We achieve to establish a free WLAN for the city we live in. Read on for goals, we reached and plans we have.
